Power & priorities
Start with output on your fuel, then check AC starting and how large appliances are controlled. A larger headline rating does not settle either question.

Choose your equipment. See what can run together, what needs to take turns, and how generators compare. This is a running-load screen, not a final generator size.
YOUR HOME / RUNNING-LOAD SCENARIOS
Sum of every selected running load. No diversity factor or added percentage.
No model below is certified to start your AC or pumps. An installer must check starting performance, voltage dip, fuel supply, and load controls.
All eight records are grouped by running-load fit. These are capacity checks, not reliability rankings or buying recommendations. Unknown fuel uses the lower of the two fuel ratings.
$8,000–$16,000 is a broad national Generac installed-system reference, not a quote for your loads or a model. Larger systems, new fuel infrastructure, and complex sites can cost more.
Taking turns = all loads marked Together plus the largest running load marked Flexible. Flexible equipment is not discarded. Only one flexible load runs at a time; this requires a practical manual plan or properly designed automatic controls. This is not a code demand calculation, a predicted typical demand, or a recommended generator rating.
Startup shows the largest selected additional allowance separately, not added to the continuous capacity filter. Overlapping starts, power factor, phase balance, and generator transient response are not modeled.

Compare exact models and packages. Features are manufacturer claims; they do not prove reliability. Feature sources checked October 27, 2026.

Compare for your home ↗A switch included in one package can be an extra in another. Compare monitoring subscriptions, battery, load-control accessories, maintenance, and warranty coverage.
Compare model features ↗Find authorized support before choosing a brand. Review counts and complaints need context: installation, service, and generator failures are different issues.
Check local support ↗Enter your ZIP on the manufacturer's authorized dealer finder. Ask who performs warranty repairs, whether they service equipment they did not install, and how emergency calls are handled. A listing does not establish availability or response time.

Explore propane costs at two published load points. A bigger generator’s 50% load is a different electrical demand; these estimates are not an equal-load efficiency ranking.
